What a ride!

It's been quite some time since my last post, largely due to the fact that it's been a busy year. I began these blog posts as a way to reflect on how my business has gone, things I've learned along the way, experiences I've had, an so on.

2019 has been a great year. I've managed to hone my technique to the point that I feel confident I can make almost any home that I'm hired to photograph shine. By no means am I claiming that I have nothing left to learn, that's never going to be the case, and I for one am glad that's so. Learning new techniques is what makes this field so enjoyable, and I've discovered that you never know where you will pick up the next great pearl of wisdom.

I've also met so many great people this year. As a self-proclaimed introvert, I can say that this genre of photography is right up my alley. Often, I show up to a home that's totally vacant and I'm left to myself to work alone in silence. And just as often, I arrive and am met by my client, or their client (the homeowner), or a combination of both. I prefer them equally and appreciate what each environment has to offer.

I've been especially proud this year, as my body of work has led to referrals which I'm so grateful and appreciative of. It's nice to take a moment to realize that the hard work and effort you put in, is paying off...it makes it all worth it.

My journey into the world of video has taken a bit longer than anticipated, largely due to keeping busy with work, and a bit to do with a small amount of intimidation, but I've begun to take small steps and am beginning to get more comfortable with the process.

I hope all is well with you all, and will work on posting on a more regular basis. Until then, have a fantastic day!

2018...a look back

Well, another year as come and gone, and what a great year it was. 2018 marked my second year in business, and although the learning curve this year wasn't as steep as my first year in business, ther
